London based design agency UF6 is behind the art direction, design and
production of ITV’s reality series Deadline that follows ten
celebrities over six weeks as they face the daunting challenges of
producing a weekly glossy magazine under the editorship of Fleet Street
legend, Janet Street Porter.
The programme branding is furthermore featured on the 12-page weekly Deadline magazine, inserted in weekly glossy, Closer.
Says Dean Barnett, UF6 Creative Director; “Deadline crosses over into
print, the challenge for us was to create an adrenalin fused DIY
celebrity magazine on the move. We did this by deconstructing the print
process and mixing anarchic typography with a pinch of pap and a heavy
dose of celebrity.”
The sequence was compiled & created in After Effects mixing live
action and stills with typographic layouts generated in Photoshop.
For broadcast, previous UF6 projects include re-branding of music
channels Kiss & Kerrang for EMAP Performance TV; programme branding
and motion graphics for ITV’s current hit ‘Katie & Peter: The Next
Chapter’, T4’s Hit 40 UK, Five’s ‘Michael Jackson’s Mind’, ‘Robbie
William’s Secrets’, ‘Make me a Supermodel’, BBC’s Eurovision:
Making Your Mind Up, and Bravo’s ‘Towers of London Documentary’. The
impact of their graphics package for Bravos' ‘I Predict A Riot’ was
pronounced as the new visual standard for all prospective Flextech
productions.
