Lime Tree Farm, Jamaica, Website Redesign & Search Engine Optimisation
"By the way the reason Polly (Sunday Independent journalist) was so interested in doing the story is that she found the website & sold the idea to the newspaper with the site - so being 'Hotel of the Week' is down to your brilliant site!! Thanks."
Lime Tree Farm offers luxury holiday accommodation on their family run coffee farm in the Blue Mountains, Jamaica. Like many they began their web life with a flash site - this looked fantastic, as awe inspiring as their setting and cottages (sadly we haven't been yet but it looks it!), but sadly no potential clients could find them when searching for holiday accommodation in Jamaica, and those that had been referred to their site were being put off through being unable to book online.
Their marketing budget wasn't big, so we decided to get back to basics and simplify the site making it pure html, allowing reservations online, and concentrate on rewriting and optimising the copy to ensure they were found for key holiday search phrases for Jamaica. We did a little search engine marketing and put together a small ongoing Google Ad word campaign.

The result - they now appear as natural (organic) search result 10 on Page 1 of Google when searching for holiday accommodation Jamaica. Not too bad when you consider the likes of large hotel chains that they are indirectly competing with and their bookings have increased ten-fold.
Through the optimisation of their site a journalist from The Sunday Independent found Lime Tree Farm and showed her editor. On 17th December 2006, Lime Tree Farm became their ‘Hotel of the Week’ in The Sunday Independent’s Caribbean supplement.
