High Organic Search Engine Page Rankings
"39.9 million searches take place in the UK every day" [ComScore, August ‘06]
As
search engines are growing increasingly sophisticated and the number of
websites drastically rising, so is the need for ensuring that you are
found organically within the first three pages of Google, see our
client Lime Tree Farm for what this achieved for them. |
| |
| Organic
search results are the natural search engine page results (SERPs) that
appear on the left hand side of the page which are free. 60.8% of
respondents who use Yahoo! and 72.3% of respondents who use Google
picked a natural search result (rather than a paid listing) as the one
they found most relevant to a sample query. [iProspect.com, 2004]
There
are some people who believe that a click thru and conversion from these
search engine results can be as high as 90% compared to ppc (pay per
click ads, on the right hand side of the page).
|
| UK Search Engine Click-thru Rates
- Google
was responsible for 68% of UK click-throughs in August 2006, a 2.8%
rise over February, while second-placed Yahoo! only managed a 0.1%
increase to 9.1%.
- Third, fourth and fifth-placed Ask.com,
MSN/Windows Live and AOL all saw their shares fall by around 1%, ending
up with shares of 7.8%, 5.8% and 4.1% respectively.

This
could be due to visitors dislike of being sold to or psycho-eye
tracking results which show that the eye follows a F pattern that
begins at the top left of a Google page when interpreting search
results.
We believe that organic search optimisation is achieved
using the 20% good coding, 40% good key phrase density and 40% high
ranking (quality) link optimisation ratio.
Through careful
customer profiling, site analysis, and identifying the key phrases that
your potential visitors and customers will use to find you, satiworks
helps to develop an in-house author style that you can incorporate
within your web copy and mega-tagging. We propose internal links that
can be established within your website and recommend relevant popular
websites and portals to be registered on and linked thru to. High
organic search engine page rankings do take longer to develop than a PPC campaign but the return on investment is incalculable.
